Our journey began in the summer of 2017 at The Gardens in Okoboji. It was a slow night and there wasn't much going on. We had both just got back from our summer trips—Connor from Mexico and me from Italy—we found ourselves sitting outside, sharing stories and laughter. It felt like we were finally getting to know each other for the first time that summer. As the conversation flowed, I showed Connor a picture of my new English bulldog puppy, and to my surprise, he revealed that an English bulldog was his dream dog. Connor asked for my number so he could see more pictures of Oliver. From then on, we were inseparable

From then on, we were inseparable—texting non-stop, despite him heading back to college in Ames. I quickly found myself making weekly trips to Ames, where our dinner dates at Texas Roadhouse became a cherished routine. I embraced Iowa State tailgates, met his roommates and their girlfriends, and learned to play their favorite games: Uker, Hammerschlagen, Beerball and the infamous Hockey. Our bond deepened with each adventure, and it wasn’t long before we decided to make the move to Des Moines. I moved to an apartment in the East Village while Connor was in Waukee. Since then we have made countless memories, such as trips to Colorado, Arizona, Seattle, Florida, Mexico, Belize. Numerous Kansas City Royals and Chiefs games, and a few of our favorite concerts. We spent countless hours with each other’s families and cherished every moment of the pandemic together. One memorable dinner night, Connor asked, “Are we going to move in together or what?” That question led us to rent our first apartment, marking the start of our life together. In September 2022, we took another big step by buying our first home. Just two weeks later, surrounded by our closest friends in Omaha, Connor proposed, making it a day we will forever treasure. As we prepare to say “I do,” we are endlessly grateful for everyone who has played a part in our love story. Every moment we've shared has added to the beautiful journey we’re on, and we’re excited to create even more memories together with all of you at the wedding and in the future.
